The National Disability Insurance Scheme
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a range of housing designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high needs. SDA homes are constructed to be more accessible for the
resident and they enable better delivery of support, which can include
automatic doors for residents with limited mobility.
SDA is offered by specialist SDA providers and is funded by the
National Disability Insurance Scheme. SDA can be new building stock
or existing housing modified to meet the needs of the resident.
FAAC have been a specialist in door and gate automation for over
50 years. We have a range of products perfectly suited to the
requirements of SDA, including:
• Swing door automation
• Automatic toilet door kits
• Touchfree buttons and switches
• Safety sensors
All FAAC operators can be fitted to existing doors and meet the Australian Standard AS 5007:2007 Powered doors for pedestrian access and egress. They can operate in low energy mode or manage
radar and laser safety monitoring.
Additionally some door operators have been certified to
AS 1530.4/2014 Fire-resistance tests for elements of construction.
